(HATTIESBURG) 6/17 @ 6pm: SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, & MEDICAID PUBLIC FORUM
A coalition of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the League of Women Voters Pine Belt, the Forrest County NAACP, MS Votes Action Fund, and MS Move has planned a series of monthly public forums to provide information and insights to help voters to better understand the pressing legal and political issues of the day. The first monthly forum will focus on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. The forum will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 6PM the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center at 220 West Front Street, Hattiesburg, MS 39401.
“Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid Night” will feature Attorney Angela Davis Morris, a Social Security and Estate Planning lawyer serving South Central Mississippi. Guiding clients successfully through the Social Security benefits application process and estate planning processes for over 30 years has made Attorney Davis Morris an expert on the complicated world of legal and administrative challenges faced by seniors and disabled persons who need the benefits offered by the Federal government as a service to American citizens.
You are invited to join the coalition and your fellow citizens in listening to Attorney Davis Morris as she clarifies the three named systems that are the focus of this Public Forum. You will learn the difference between Medicare and Medicaid, once and for all, and learn why these two public insurance programs and the Social Security system have become the focus of the current Federal budget crisis in Washington, DC. Come prepared to present your questions to our highly accomplished, award winning speaker, who is recognized as one of the top lawyers in Hattiesburg in her field.
Remember to always hold close to your heart the memorable words of the late Voting Rights Activist, Vernon Dahmer, “If you don’t vote, you don’t count.” Attend these important information sharing Public Forums so that you can truly make your “informed vote” count.
The forum will begin promptly at 6PM and will run until 8PM. Feel free to chat with Attorney Davis Morris once the forum finishes.
